But it’s true. The coronavirus death toll in the U.S passed 50,000 and it’s climbing. There are nearly 1 million confirmed cases. About 26 million people have lost jobs. The Congressional Budget Office projects that the U.S. will return to an unemployment rate below 10 percent in late 2021—and that somehow feels optimistic.
