    Regarding "Election Week": Every election day is the same. From the beginning we start with multiple time zones and large differences between poll closing times. Those closing later always complain that their outcomes have been corruptly influenced by reporting of results of earlier states. Sprinkle in a handful of polling locations with equipment failure, or overflowing capacity and some local judge ordering the polls stay open. Through all of this the press is just itching to report the outcome. They've worked and waited more than a year for this. What's more, they have a raft of additional information in the form of exit poll results. By convention (law?) they embargo reporting until (most) (local) polls close, but it goes against all their instincts and desires. (Who else remembers 2004?)

    Imagine trying to manage and contain those passions and impulses for an entire week. It will not happen. Reporting will leak out. Whole strategies of early week voting vs late week voting will arise. It changes the system. It become more of a game and less of a collective moment of choice. A single Election Day is the best system.

    The ability of today's voters to reach the polls at some time during the appointed day far exceeds the ability of the rural populations that framed the system calling for elections in the first place. Not one of us has to ride a horse, or walk, into the village miles distant to cast our ballots. The increasing modern refusal to take on adult responsibility should not be appeased. If you care to vote, get to the polls on Election Day.

    Dread a Biden-Warren ticket. Senescent Joe will bow out gracefully to 25th amendment and screeching LIzzy will be the stealth Bernie. Everybody’s rooting for Foggy Joe as the Bernie slayer. How foolish and shortsighted.

      I've also noticed this with the main Dispatch podcastl on Stitcher. The Remnant generally shows up on time.

      That is an issue, but not of the same importance.
