Why do I find that when Jonah is solo on these podcasts it is infinitely more interesting? He brings clarity and understanding to the chaos. Living in NYC without a country escape bungalow and working throughout on the whole (thus out and about and not bunkered down) has meant 2020 has been a challenge.. Walking past a refrigerator unit for dead bodies outside the local hospital in Bushwick, to walking 2 hours to work each way (tried subways once and disgusting), to walking past angry protestors/rioters and broken out store fronts. Thus I have in a way a post main event apathy towards the current political news cycle and the election. If you have ever acted in a play and the feeling after it ends is similar. (Anyone else have this?) But I always have time for Jonah. He is far above his peers to me.
Regarding awful Shibbolethith (?) woke/academic writing, WS Gilbert had that type pegged back in 1880:
"And ev'ry one will say
As you walk your mystic way
