    No idea where Jonah got this idea that only Brazil has a presidential system similar to the US without the electoral college. All Latin America has it, as does France, contrary to what he said about nothing of the sort existing in Western Europe.

    To be fair, it's not true either that the US has been the only country with an electoral college system. I know at least Finland used to have one.

    Good podcast, but Jonah is still wrong about the electoral college, which has failed multiple to fulfill the goal that the founders intended. It’s failure in 2016 is how we ended up with January 6. Republicans embraced the idea of minority rule as defensible with violence.

    Tevi criticized Public Health for a “We will tell you when you need to know” problem. Yeah, bad guys in action movies, funny and otherwise have been telling their henchmen that for decades. Fitting, eh?

    Did Jonah's guest just say that "the woke left" opposes linear thinking and hard work? That was a terrible, terrible generalization. Not a particularly nuanced conversation. Also, anti-semitic violence is bad; anti-Islamic violence, also bad. It's not a competition for which is worse. The severity of both has ebbed and flowed over the years. Saying that anti-Islamic violence increased after 9/11 does not mean that the anti-semitism problem is any less severe. We can acknowledge that both problems exist to varying degrees in this country, accompanied by anti-asian violence.
