Dispatch Live is a weekly virtual gathering for members featuring Dispatch writers, editors, and special guests. Attendees can ask questions of our panelists and interact with other members via the YouTube chat feature, but they can also just sit back with their beverage of choice and watch the proceedings. While you can see the panelists, they can’t see you. (Note: A Google account is required to use the YouTube Live chat. You can create one with your normal email by clicking here.)

Not able to tune in tonight? No worries.

A video recording of Dispatch Live will be available on our website tomorrow morning. An audio-only version of the conversation will also be available tomorrow on The Skiff, our members-only podcast feed. Click here to sign up for The Skiff on your preferred podcast platform.

A note from Steve about June 18’s episode of Dispatch Live:

I’m very happy to share that we’ll be joined by Fred Ryan for our June 18 Dispatch Live. Fred is a remarkable man—former publisher of the Washington Post, co-founder and CEO of Politico, onetime chief of staff to former President Ronald Reagan, and current chairman of the Reagan Foundation and Institute. But when he joins us, I’ll be focused on something entirely different.

Fred is the author of Wine and The White House: A History, a fascinating (and beautiful) book that, as the name suggests, explores the long history of our presidents and the wines they served (and consumed). Fred is a master storyteller who combines detailed historical research with great human stories, and we’re excited to have him join us to discuss the book—and more.

I asked Fred if he would share with Dispatch members a small selection of wines that make an appearance in the book and that you might purchase in advance of our conversation, should you care to enjoy a glass of wine while you listen in. These are (relatively) easy to find and typically run between $40 and $65 (consider it a special occasion). Whether you choose to sip one of these, or something else, or nothing at all, I hope you’ll join us for a fun evening.
