    Bolton is at least a voice worth listening to and he has been involved in some interesting situations. However, the accusation that folks did a poor job of warning about the unfitness of his former boss is pretty rich. He got hired well into the term and somehow he had tickled certain ears enough on Fox News to get the job without saying any critical words that would have blocked such a leap. Pretty sure many folks could see the lack of fitness without working in the West Wing for several months.

    He criticizes Biden for allowing Iran to access funds yet he praises Netanyahu who supported sending funds directly to Hamas.

    I am also interested in knowing how much money has actually been released to Iran. And what was received in return? I'm guessing Biden didn't release money to Iran for nothing. In case The Dispatch can bring on an expert on this topic as they repeatedly hammer Biden for this but have said nothing about Netanyahu supporting money going to Hamas.

    An interesting conversation, but it's evident that Bolton has a bit of a fixation on Iran. The solution to all problems is presented as a confrontation with Iran, and he seems to assess Netanyahu principally via the fact that he was a staunch ally of Bolton's approach to Iran. The success of the October 7 attack was clearly an Israeli intelligence failure, and the Netanyahu government's role has yet to be explored in detail. If nothing else, his government bears responsibility to diverting the IDF to support right wing settlement policies in the West Bank and for a dogged pursuit of immensely controversial legal reforms that created a great rift in Israeli society. Netanyahu also bears responsibility for strained relations with US presidents for decades, with the exception of Donald Trump.
