    Normally it is safe to assume that Sarah is correct. Regarding DJT, I think Steve has it exactly right. His only electoral victory was against a candidate that united the country in near universal dislike. Any other R would have won be a larger margin, and any other D would have won. Races since then have been anti-popularity contests as to who is hated less. It will be another nail-biter, unless either Party tags in a less universally disliked candidate.

    Nate Silver is a free agent this year, and he mentions here https://www.natesilver.net/p/the-election-model-is-a-little-too that he might want to put his model behind a paywall. Would he be too big of a fish for the Dispatch skiff?

    My father and I have started our own "High Steaks" bet, although only what Sarah formerly considered the "stupid" half. I've taken the side that Biden will be the nominee (because creating a Dem civil war is too great a risk) while my dad is convinced that Biden is a sock puppet who will be imminently replaced by probably Newsom. I am confident that come the convention I will be owed a large medium-rare ribeye with garlic butter.

    I tried to get my dad to raise the 'steaks', but he said something along the line of "I've learned it's not a good idea to bet against Trump"... fair enough.

    For a podcast called High Steaks, nothing could be more appropriate than Sarah saying “raison d’entrée instead of “raison d'être,” in fact I think this should become the unofficial term for arguments advanced by her and Steve for their respective positions on the bet.

    C'mon. The deal has already been struck. Biden will not run, Newsome will take the top spot, and Newsome WILL give a phony speech saying how much he "regrets" that he can't have Harris as his running mate because of the 12th Amendment.

    Harris has already agreed to accept Attorney General as her compensation!
