A Small Book Club Update!

Well, that was quite a response! We’re grateful that so many Dispatch members are excited to join Sarah this summer for our Dispatch Book Club. And we’re writing today with even more good news—another book and another discussion! We’re going to do both The Wager and Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann.

The backstory: We screwed up. And that mistake is a win for you.

In our email Monday (and in TMD on Tuesday), we pointed you to Killers of the Flower Moon, by David Grann, as the selection for May. It’s a great book and the story has been adapted by Martin Scorsese into a highly-anticipated film, out next fall, with Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio. From the first moment we discussed a Dispatch Book Club, Killers of the Flower Moon was on Sarah’s list. Earlier this spring, as we planned the schedule, we learned that David Grann’s new book, The Wager, would be published in early May, so we jumped at the chance to do that instead. But we messed up the internal comms and sent a notification with the wrong book.

Our solution? Let’s do both!
