Did CNN Report That Antifa ‘Claimed Responsibility’ for Storming Capitol Hill?

Nope.

A graphic has started to spread on social media, allegedly showing a CNN chyron reporting that Antifa was behind the attack on Congress on Wednesday.

There is no reporting on CNN’s website to back up this claim, and the image bears signs of being fake: “Capitol Hill,” for example, is misspelled as “Capital Hill.” The real image can be seen here, and shows instead that the chyron reads “The Presidential Election: Congress Counts the Vote.”

Matt Dornic, head of strategic communications at CNN, told The Dispatch Fact Check that the image “has been sloppily edited to spread a bogus narrative” and affirmed that “CNN did not report the information in the chyron.”
