    There was a bit of talk about Trump being an automatic lame duck. I'm not so sure he or MAGA are too worried about that. He's already demonstrated complete disdain for the Constitution and the law, why would he suddenly feel bound by the two-term limit?

    Light item: My hometome of Orange City, Iowa, is throwing it's annual Tulip Festival. Thursday-Friday-Saturday we celebrate our Dutch heritage. It's one of the premier events in the region, and I'll be helping out as usual griddlin' poffertjes downtown. Come down and visit! Bring the family! Leave your money! Anyway, my question for the Dispatch crew, and the chat, is "Do you have a hometown celebration that you participate in? Some community event in the present or the past?"

      Laguna Beach, California's "Pageant of the Masters" was the big annual tourist draw and festival when I was a kid there in the 60s. Live actors portray famous old paintings. My Dad was a member of the JayCees (the Junior Chamber of Commerce, I think I spelled it right) and helped run the event several years.

      The town I live in now, Inola (pronounced eye-nolah), OK, the self-proclaimed "Hay Capital of the World" has an annual Hay Days festival that's a lot of fun. Local businesses compete to make the most eye-catching decorations out of hay bales (the big round kind).
