    I vehemently agree that there’s a paradox on the left of wanting stricter gun laws but not wanting to enforce them. I disagree however that diversionary programs are a good example of that hypocrisy. Diversionary programs can work in many cases and get first time and non violent offenders the help they need via mandated counseling and sobriety, to avoid getting trapped in the justice system. The problem with progressive prosecutors is that they refuse to even charges (or drop charges) for drug possession, prostitution and gun crimes. It’s more acute with drugs and prostitution than with gun crime, but this means many people aren’t getting the help they need and end up staying on the street. I don’t see any contradiction with strong laws and this approach when used for the right kind of perpetrator.

    Jonah dear Jonah. Sorry for posting a more critical comment than the positives I have tried to recognize.
    How many times must we stipulate and even accept your comments on the former president?
    At some point you lose the jury due to boredom and exhaustion.

    Truly, bring your brilliance to the masses. Your intelligence and time are wasted talking about the most UN-American person of our time.

    Focus on that at least, maybe people will get it, rather than loving him - the poorest actor standing up to the other bad actors.

    He steps on the country at every turn to feed his whatever is in there for him.

    No oxygen please.

    As you have said stand for what you believe in not against what you can’t stand.
    Please. You are wasting your talent on preschool stuff.

      It is disgusting that our political leadership is such a bunch of pathetic degenerates and grifters. We are left in this Presidential election cycle with a choice between a megalomaniac facing criminal charges for attempting to steal state secrets and a dottering old party hack with a history of questionable financial dealings with foreign governments. Yet, with the DOJ's treatment of the investigations and follow-on charges, there does seem to be a double standard. When it comes to criminal proceedings of the former President and the son of the current one, DOJ does not come out looking independent and objective in this latest affair with Hunter Biden. Perhaps there has always been a tendency of the judicial system to favor of the rulers and their kin, and maybe the party in power has always found ways to circumvent the laws when it involves on of their own, but it is increasingly obvious that the Department of Justice is another political arm of the President and his party. I am sure that the crimes admitted by Hunter Biden would have resulted in jail time if committed by anyone other than the son of the President, as I am equally sure that Trump's treatment of classified material would have been given the Clinton pass had the Republicans been in control. The rest of us can be sure that our own treatment under the justice system would be significantly harsher for the same charges.

        There is not a two-tier Justice system favoring the President and his family.

        Joe Biden hasn’t committed any crimes except in the right’s imagination. Donald Trump has.

        Legal experts tell us that Hunter Biden has been treated more harshly than ordinary people who did the same thing.

        For one thing, the tax violations aren’t usually a criminal matter, but civil.

        And the gun offense is very rarely charged unless the person was u

    Hey there are plenty of players in the medium to high grade as candidates in this current pantheon

    And the current DOJ announced the new plea purchase (oops agreement)
    They couldn't bury it, but they'll paint it unoffensive blue;

    So Hunter is entering a diversion program. Is he being diverted from using narcotics? From buying guns while using narcotics? From buying guns? From embarrassing the Biden family?
