Steve Hayes and Sarah Isgur kicked off our Iowa conversation with Republican strategist and Iowa guru David Kochel. The three give a play-by-play of the issues plaguing the American people before diving into the GOP candidates’ helpless caucus attempts. Andrew, Chris and Kevin join the stream to answer the question we’re all wondering: Do the Iowa results even matter? Jonah joins for a hot second to give his take on the voters having too much power and David (Drucker) and Mike join in the last half to talk about Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis’ ground campaigns.

    Sarah's thesis was right in 2016. Mike's is right in 2024. Trump in 2016 captured an ignored issue set. In 2024 it is cult of personality all the way down.

    Sorry Nikki fans. This thing is over. Trump will be the Republican nominee and I’m beginning to think our next President as well.

      The former is certainly true, but the later is still in flux and those Republicans keen on Niki Haley can in fact do quite a lot to make sure it does not happen. The coalition against Trump must start forming now, and it needs to unite in voting against him by supporting Biden. Because whether people like it or not Biden is what is standing between America and 4 more years of American Chaos under Trump. It's too late to save the Republican party from him but it isn't too late to save America.

        Believe me, I hope that happens. But I'm skeptical. Even The Dispatch, as anti Trump as it is, despises Biden. I personally disagree and think Biden is doing an OK job. But I don't see a meaningful % of Nikki supporters voting for Biden. Maybe if a big deal happens on the border and Ukraine and Israel then he can get a tiny % of them. But even then I don't think so. He has been fairly pro-Israel, pro-Ukraine, trying to make a deal on the border, unemployment low, inflation low compared to other countries ... but he gets zero credit for anything.

          Well the time for Choosing is Coming, and they and the Dispatch will also have to make that choice and they can still make the right choice. I mean look at Liz Cheney and Chris Christie. They were Trump supporters and enablers. But they found their way back.
