A number of Twitter users, including actress Debra Messing, accused President Trump of mimicking a photograph of Hitler when Trump posed with a Bible:

The graphic appears to have originated Tuesday morning with Twitter user @SGarrettRN, whose Twitter handle is watermarked in the upper lefthand corner of the image and who had shared the image in a since deleted tweet.

      It all depends on your definition of "tear gas". There are a number of lacrimatory agents used in crowd control. "Tear gas" often refers to synthetic chemicals (such as CN or CS). But "pepper spray" or "pepper balls" certainly cause people to cry and sneeze and cough. I don't blame people who were there calling it "tear gas" especially if they had never been exposed to actual tear gas before.

        Does it really matter if it was tear gas, pepper spray, water cannons, or the "Scoops" off the movie Soylent Green? The bottom line is that cops/military lit into demonstrators to clear a path for der fuhrer.

      The article didn't state the exact compound (they may not know), but it was tear gas based on a broad definition. The definition is based on the effect not on the exact chemicals used.

        Amendment: upon closer reading of the article there was one compound deployed and that was chloroacetophenone which is made or pepper spray.

      I was watching CNN at the time, and I'm pretty sure it was during that time that the camera in the crowd was showing a young woman and man pouring water in their eyes because of the tear gas.

      Yeah, that's a good one. Been hearing it repeated many times, from many sides, that that happened, and occasionally, here and there, that it did not. Republican and Democrat politicians are denouncing the action (and it's certainly horrible optics).
