Jonah, used and abused by CNN, is prepared to deliver a level of rank punditry not yet seen in legacy media. He begins today’s episode of The Ruminant by eulogizing Mitch McConnell’s tenure in the Senate, noting the positive correlation between disdain for McConnell and general unseriousness. Briefly touching on the state of primaries and Biden’s low popularity, he then explains his most recent G-File on Aaron Bushnell’s suicide and how boredom is (not so slowly) killing us.     Jumping into the comments just to ask that you don't discontinue the solo Remnants. While there are some guests that you have that are particularly fascinating to me (it's a shame the chat with Daniel Hannan was cut short), I personally prefer the solos.

    Jonah is still my fave podcast. Please don't stop. He's like an old-fashioned talk radio host weaving his philosophy and opinions to make sense of our current state of politics and society. Your solos in a dank and dark basement, with a dog laying nearby somewhere, are your best work. Bring in Stirewalt sometimes to add some fun banter, Williamson to keep it a bit dark, guests to make me think. But the solo is a highlight of my week.

    Here's one more vote for Jonah to keep doing solo Remnants. Jonah is my favorite podcaster, for his mellifluous tones (I mean that unironically), his humor, his decency, his discursions through intellectual history while admitting that intellectuals are often a lagging rather than a leading indicator, and his important contrarian takes (like the limitations of transparency and democracy), plus his overall good and interesting judgment on issues of the day. His interviews are only as good as his guests -- sometimes great, sometimes so-so -- but his solo efforts are always valuable.

    Please keep it up! Don't listen to your wife! I mean, do listen to her in probably every other way, but not when it comes to the solo remnants.

    Still like the Ruminants, but hope one day Jonah indulges his impulse to do a deep dive on Burke or some other conservative luminary he mentions in passing. He always stops himself right when it's getting interesting and returns to some "rank-punditry."

    Like some of the others below, I’m not a “comment” guy either but want to drop in my two cents about the solo podcasts. The solos are some of my favorite podcasts, and when Jonah does a deep dive on such topics as the history of neoconservatism or the overdetermined phenomenon of American Jews voting Democrat, I feel like I truly understand them for the first time. The Dispatch has a lot of great content, but I’m a paid subscriber because of Jonah, and I look forward all his articles and podcasts, especially the solos.

    I enjoy and listen to all of your podcasts, but I think the solo podcasts are my favorite. I'm just not one to normally comment.

    Listening to this episode right now, and just wanted to make clear (in regard to a remark from Jonah) that I LOVE the solo-podcasts. I very much want them to continue. In fact, I typically look more forward to them than the guest-interview podcasts (as informative as I find those).
