Watch out, Howard Stern, because the FM radio Remnant format is back for another nerdtastic broadcast. Jonah is joined once again by Ryan, a covert NBC operative working to undermine The Dispatch from within, Guy, resident Anglophobe and Mark Steyn impersonator who will soon be releasing his own album of old standards, and Nick, Jonah’s long-suffering research assistant who might be America’s only involuntary Hoosier. The quartet explores pertinent topics of the moment, including Israel, mask mandates, all-American conspiracy theories, and the travails of Liz Cheney. But they also indulge in some less substantial discussion, and read some of their favorite listener reviews from recent months. How do you feel about the drive-time format?     Jonah, with respect to people calling you a Democrat, I feel your pain. My brother says that to me all the time because I don't worship at the orange altar. Oh well. Keep on keeping on.

      I get that too, and here's my theory. In the 2016 election the Trump side set up and sold this to the faithful. I do believe it came from Bannon. "The election is binary. You are either for Trump or Hillary so if you don't vote for Trump then you are for Hillary." In reality you can leave the president space blank or vote for your mom. You prefer neither. It's just another take of "either your are for us or your our enemy". It's a muscle move.

      I get it from the other side all the time. I'm a teacher so my social group is pretty lefty. And it drives me "bat guano" crazy to hear them insinuate I'm a closet republican. No, I just think that this idea is good or silly on the merits. Can't we just evaluate issues and proposals based on facts and logic? No . . . most definitely in 2021 we cannot.

    This format works because the other guys are witty enough make it work.

    Also the Guy howling in pain sound effect needs to be incorporated on an ongoing basis.

    I was an involuntary Hoosier. Indiana is still my favorite state because it's the land of my birth. And it has the Colts. But Michigan has much more to offer in terms of beauty.

    I am from a college town (Richmond Indiana) home of Earlham College. And the social dualism in such Indiana towns (and good looking mamas who never was around) is a very real thing

    I like this format.

    One minor technical criticism - the audio sounded like it cut in and out a bit. Could be a glitch from having multiple people in 3 or 4 places speaking digitally. Some parts cut out, and some seemed to repeat. It's the first time I've noticed this issue, so could be a one-off.

    Love the Drive-Time Ruminant format. You guys do a great job of riffing off of one another and keeping the conversation entertaining. I hope there will be more Drive-Time Ruminants in the future.

    I really liked this format. On the uncontrollable laughter of Kamala Harris, “about to give herself a hernia” or whatever the line was, that might describe me at points in this episode while attempting to crank out some push-ups. Haha, maybe I could complain that the podcast is too funny which makes it hard to do pull-ups.

    On a serious note, I was surprised none of the guys said they knew people who believed the election was stolen. I absolutely know people who do. (I interact with people across a spectrum of politics, culture, and life experience, I guess.) My former landlady’s husband and I had an interesting conversation back in January during which I tried to cast doubt on his assurance that, “there will never be another fair election in this country.” And I know people who had doubts or weren’t sure or just didn’t know what to think. I know people who still don’t know that some of the people they listen to don’t believe the things they say.
