With America’s vaccine rollout gaining steam once again, Jonah and Will explore how calamity-ending miracle drugs became the subject of partisan debate, and whether any side truly got the pandemic right.     Sorry, but I bailed after about 10 minutes. I'd like to hear Will Saletan and Jim Geraghty discuss the numbers regarding COVID.

    Listening to Mr. Saletan's closing statement on COVID, with a strong plea (which which I agree) for depoliticization of this mess, I wonder if he might follow up on his article in Slate on how the GOP botched their response with one on how the Democrats did also. Although he says their poor response was "on the margins," I disagree (thinking of, e.g.,Gov. Whitmer's overreach, Rep. Pelosi and Mayor DeBlasio's "go to Chinatown" for New Year's, then-Sen. Harris' antivax statements, and what Mr. Goldberg called the "Treason of the Epidemiologists"). If he's serious about taking the politics out of all this, then he should finish the piece by calling to account everyone and every organization that willfully went down a bad road for perceived advantage...if his employers would let him do so. Some on the right (like Mr. Goldberg) having taken a tremendous amount of heat from the right for trying to be reasonable and not drinking the Kool-ade; perhaps Mr. Saletan could join him.

    I should've turned it off at "Covid is the new 9/11." Unless the Chinese purposely released the virus with the intent to kill people worldwide, it's not the new 9/11.
    Despite that, I gave it 20 minutes. I finally got tired of Will's rewriting of the history of the Covid response to serve partisan ends. Even when Jonah corrected him, Will would primarily brush it aside and ignore it. Writing off the Teachers' Unions influence in the Covid Response Policy Decisions is malpractice for any sort of Journalist or Pundit.
    I'm sure that I could come up with many more complaints, but I'm not even going to bother listening to the rest. 50/50 chance I completely ignore the next episode with Will as a guest. Like any "expert" that pedals false information, Will has lost my respect and goodwill.

    I do love Will, and when you guys get together
    And I love your idea of having like 2 liberals who don't agree on everything talk to each other
    For one thing, it might us centers get across the point that we aren't the same as the more woke side

    After continuing to listen to this podcast, I came back to remove my 'liking' of it. I finally just cut it off at about the one hour point. Every time Saletan would make a decent point, Jonah would take home court advantage to go on an extended, whiney rant. That's what it sounded like, regardless of ideological perspective. Saletan showing patience and good faith, and Goldberg indulging in emotive ranting and loving the sound of his own voice. I couldn't take any more of it. I hope you can continue to get this quality of guest, while treating them this poorly.

    I would like to hear less vaccine idolatry from Jonah and the Remnant crew. Everything has tradeoffs. Maybe you can interview Aaron Kheriaty, who is suing the UC system regarding its vaccine mandate?

    This was a great discussion! A good example of how two ideologically-different people can have a reasonable discussion/disagreement when neither thinks the other is evil and they agree on the same basic set of facts. Insightful and very interesting.

    Love how it takes a liberal (Saletan), to point out that it’s not libertarian to force businesses not to require vaccines! The libertarian position is that the businesses can do what they want. The Right used to understand that.

    Combined with the anniversary of 9/11, this podcast took me back to the ‘90s. That was the decade where the classical liberal consensus seemed to be the mainstream, and you could have a legitimate debate on politics and policies based on a common set of facts.
