    So I'm probably going to miss the answer, but isn't defining wokitude as a luxury good/ status symbol kind of weird and hand-wavy? I mean yes, but isn't like, everything that is slightly better than subsistence a luxury good?
    Was abolition a luxury display movement?
    Why one but not the other?

    It’s always seemed to me, though I don’t understand all the numbers, that the ‘baby boom’ budget stress could have been handled by deficits, i.e., borrowing. Unfortunately, Congress continued to spend, so they eliminated the borrowing margin that could have been available had they stopped.

    Though I find much of wokeness odd, and some downright weird, I don’t mind people that believe such things. What I find offensive is their desire that I believe it too, and their efforts to force it on me (us?). Am I paranoid or on to something?
