Fact Check: Joe Biden Did Not Ignore British Prime Minister Upon Arrival In Belfast

A misleading clip is circulating online.

A condensed video clip is circulating online of President Joe Biden appearing to ignore or to fail to recognize British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak upon the former’s arrival in Belfast on April 11.

Extended footage of Biden’s arrival shows the president speaking to Sunak upon his arrival before turning to address other officials.

Biden visited Northern Ireland earlier this month to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Belfast Good Friday Agreement, which put an end to more than 30 years of civil strife between Protestant unionists and Catholic republicans in the province.
