Former FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb joins The Remnant for the first time to explore the state of the COVID-19 pandemic and what went wrong with America’s response last year. With cases falling nationally, Scott believes that the “pandemic phase” of the virus is drawing to a close. But we’re still remarkably unprepared for whatever the next pandemic might be. What were the successes and failures of Operation Warp Speed? How do natural immunity and vaccine immunity compare?     This was an excellent interview. Dr. Gottlieb is a clear, deliberative thinker and articulates his perspective in a respectful manner, just as he does with his columns in the WSJ. I look forward to reading his book and listening to him on the next podcast at The Dispatch.

    Wish you would have asked him if he would consider a run for President. Wouldn't it be nice to have an intelligent, sober minded and young President? Not sure everything he stands for but intelligence, common sense, and strategic thinking are a big head start.

    In all the interviews with Dr. Gottlieb, I haven't heard anyone ask his opinion about Drs. Fauci and Birx's performance during the pandemic. I'm currently reading Scott's book and so maybe he addresses it there.

    Dr. Gottlieb has been a fixture in our home since March 29, 2020, when he published "National coronavirus response: A road map to reopening." A steady, reliable voice in a world gone mad. That he wasn't (and hasn't been) drafted into a public health leadership role is an indictment of both political parties. Both want the issue. Neither wants to lead. Thank you for having him on, Jonah.

    Outstanding podcast! I was excited to see Dr. Gottlieb as the guest, since from the early days of the pandemic I was impressed by his public statements which seemed so much more balanced and informed than so many of the other voices out there. I found the explanation of how different vaccines work, with the viral vector vs. direct presentation of the spike protein, particularly fascinating.
