    I don't have the exact quote, but Mr. Stirewalt said that your duty to your country trumps your duty to your profession. While I agree with the sentiment, one has to be careful about its application. There's a reason why lawyers and doctors can't fink on their clients and patients. In the grand scheme it could not only see justice done but save lives. Still, in the even grander scheme we would forego the trust that allows these professionals to be effective. Imagine a doctor trying to find Patient Zero from an infected person, who won't say where he caught the disease because it happened while committing a crime. Or imagine the loss of public trust when an epidemiologist says its okay to attend massive gatherings during an epidemic to fight racism, because racism is the bigger threat to public health... Oh, wait --

    In this very conversation you spoke disapprovingly of journalists who lied to the public "for the greater good". So yeah, there'll be times, but they're rare and you should think hard before deciding this is one of them, because you're probably wrong.

    I love the conversation. No need to fret or apologize. It’s what we want when you two are together.

    Question: what’s the source (or a good source) for the post-War social science Chris mentioned? I am fascinated by it. I heard of of other studies including a wonderful one referenced by my political science professor years ago about a WWII study of “relative deprivation.” Alas, I need a good book about them.

    Like many of the previous commenters, I found this episode interesting and entertaining. But also, a suggestion and a correction. Suggestion: for the 20th appearance, the guest should get a Gold Cloak, in keeping with Jonah's frequent reference to the early conservative who wore the cape (Alfred Nock maybe?) Correction: Jonah, in Dr. Strangelove, Slim Pickens, Major T.J. "King" Kong does NOT ride an ICBM, he rides a gravity bomb, just your plain old non-powered, thermonuclear device.

    Hey, don't misrepresent the Bible. It clearly embraces the flat earth cosmology of the ancient near east. Yeah, sure it doesn't explicitly say "the Earth is flat", but that's because it never occurs to anyone it could be something different.

    Chris Stirewalt is a gentleman and a scholar. And he brought back “No you won’t this is a podcast!” Even if it’s just temporarily. He did good testifying before the January 6th committee. A true American patriot. I believe he’s passed Jim Geraghty for most appearances on the Remnant?

    I always love Chris Stirewalt!

    Can Tucker Carlson be half right? The events of Jan 6 are not a lie but what is happening is a show trial. Rep. Cheney is serious but Rep Schiff is not.

    The Democrats also started us down this merry path and have done nothing to reign it in. We all know what happened in 2000 in Florida. Then Senator Barak Obama called the Deibold voting machines into question in 2004.

    Then in 2016 Hilary Clinton and Jill Stein claimed Trump only won because of fraud in Michigan and Jill Stein actually funded several recounts to find the fraud.

    And finally, in this latest round of primaries Democrats crossed parties and funded Jan 6 liars in hopes of having candidates it would be easier to beat in Nov.

    It's hard to believe that, while what the attempt to steal the election on Jan 6 is real, the Democrats are seriously concerned about it.
