How does liberty die? According to Padmé, with thunderous applause. According to The New York Times, with an ill-timed op-ed ghostwritten by Putin. And according to John Pitney, professor of American politics at Claremont McKenna, maybe with Trump? John joins the show to play Remnant bingo, but also to make the case that Trump’s oft-praised abrasiveness isn’t actually very American — and that his behavior usually stifles liberty instead of promoting it.

    I have a question....is there any former democratic president that any conservatives like, even think was ok?...lol..or were they all terrible/bad?

    I ask because I have voted for Republicans, and a different republican in 2016, ( Kasich I like, Mitt I like) would have been better for me to vote for

    Many people talk about Hillary Clinton's or Joe Biden's being "normal" compared to Donald Trump, but I don't agree, and I never have. None of them is normal. The novelty of Trump was simply his screen (TV and social media) presentation.

    I followed your sign off comments about appearing on The Andrew Klavan Show and to check it out. I listened to the podcast and the 35 minutes proceeding your entrance, and I ... I was speechless... to summarize, the left is evil, racist and wants our cities to burn. Trump has the balls to walk across the square to hold up the bible and made all the democratic governors look like wimps. Democrat voters are the rioters and will be voting for Joe Biden. How can Andrew Klavan be taken as morally serious person? It was like a hot take of propaganda to whip up the proletariat.

      I did the same thing, but fast-forwarded through all the Klavan clutter.

      Klavan - like way more Dispatch commenters than I would have expected - justifies everything Drumpf does thusly: “But the MEDIA!”

        I tried his show but didn't last long. I also listened to Shapiro who is better but with so many good podcasts I dropped him too. I do think Shapiro is the heir of Rush Limbaugh but at this point I'm over Rush Limbaugh.

    If your states electoral vote isn't going to be contested your vote will go to the overall popular vote which is a signal of the eventual winners popular mandate, Is not necessarily valuable in structural terms but its also not unimportant. I personally want either candidate who ever it is to be as weak as possible. There's a big difference between Trump or Biden Winning with 48% of the vote and winning with 51% of the vote in terms of what they can do in power come 2021.
