Hello, and welcome to The Kitchen Sync newsletter!
My name is Klon Kitchen. I’m a technology and foreign policy practitioner and scholar with more than 20 years of service. You can learn more about all of that here.
This newsletter has existed for several years and my subscribers include curious laypeople, senior policymakers, military and intelligence leaders, and executives in some of the world’s most influential companies. But it’s always been a little informal and more of a conversation among friends.
Now, however, we’re going big-time on Substack.com and I couldn’t be more pumped!
With Substack’s features, I’m exploring ways to bring even more value to this newsletter. Here’s the plan (though I may jigger with this a little bit over the next several weeks): Every Monday morning, you’ll get my main newsletter highlighting and analyzing key issues you need to know about for the week. You can also get an audio version of this update if you prefer podcasts. Both versions are free for everyone.
Eventually, paying “insiders” will also get to participate in “Friday Sync Ups.” This is where I’ll post an open discussion thread on a particular topic or question for our merry band of thought leaders and influencers to discuss publicly with one another. It’ll be polite, informative, and a lot of fun.
Insiders will also get regular “deep dives” — longer form thoughts and analysis on the latest research I’ve been engaging — and breaking news updates so that they know more and know first!
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves on the whole “insider” thing. Let’s just enjoy the moment, shall we?
Starting this Monday, February 8th, 2021, our Substack newsletter will be “live” and subscribers will receive the first Monday Briefing. It’s pretty cool and I’m thankful for the chance to share it with you.
If you haven’t already signed up, please do so by clicking the button below. This will ensure you get The Kitchen Sync directly in your inbox.
In the meantime, you can also follow me on Twitter, and it’d be great if you told your friends and followers about this sweet newsletter you’ve joined!
