    I've never been harrassed in the field by anti-hunters, but I hunt on private land. However, the notion that an anti-hunter positioning themselves near a hunter's stand (and/or creating a disturbance near a stand) is not impeding the hunter is nonsense. What other purpose could such activity serve? To believe otherwise is to take the position that the hunter is free to hunt all they want; they just won't see any animals. Also, what happened to time and place restrictions on free speech when said speech interferes with the activity of others? Are animal rights activists free to pursue their activities at all times and all places irrespective of the impact on others? Just asking . . .

    Judge Wallace's opinion in the Trump Ballot access case demonstrates a huge problem with orignalism and textualism. Judges are not trained historians. Therefore it's easy for them to write things like "To lump the Presidency in with any other civil or military office is odd

    No, it's not "odd indeed." Constitutional historians would tell you that for much of the first 80 years of the USA, the President and the Presidency was seen as 1) second to Congress and 2) as firstly a military position -- hence the military title of Commander and Chief. The role of the Presidency didn't expand to its current role until *after* the Civil War with the creation of modern administrative state. It is entirely plausible that drafters of the 14th Amendment, who were still reconstructing after a war in which the President (Lincoln) was acting firstly and directly as Commander in Chief, would "...lump the Presidency in with any other civil or military office."

    My wife is a therapist and I am proud of everything that she has accomplished. I will admit that one of my weaknesses as a man is that when I dated a Law Student in Law School I had an extremely hard time with her being better then me. Maybe that self awareness is why I married a Therapist.

    One of the biggest roadblocks to Environmental Policies is the disrespect those on the Left give hunters. Hunters fund conservation efforts. They love the wildlife that many Big City Liberals claim to care about and yet get constantly belittled in popular culture as Bambi killers. Humans have hunted for millennia, and there is nothing wrong with the practice so long as you (A) use the meat you kill (B) do it within lawful limits. Even Trophy Hunting, if you kill the Lion and the African Government appropriately funds what they say it funds. There is nothing wrong with it.

    Sarah and David, engineers, as a group, are logical problem solvers. When they err, it is generally due to invalid assumptions at the base of their logic. It was your error in assuming that an nfl coach’s skill set was identical to a player’s skill set that drove me to become a member so that I could comment. On hunting, your errors on the act have been noted by others but your most egregious assumption was that overpopulation of game animals is a result of predator control and therefore reversible. As noted, humans have been great predators for most of our existence ( I remember reading an article w map showing that the range of the great bison herds was defined by the Indian nations that surrounded it. The habitat that they thrived in was the one that minimized hunting by humans) and the loss of the apex predator combined w loss of habitat are probably the source of most overpopulation. And I don’t think you would be a proponent of a return to a hunter/gatherer culture.

    Also note that the population of all animals is driven by food supply. In times or areas without humans, in years with abundant forage, the numbers of prey animals would increase, causing an increase in predators. As forage would decrease, game animals would would be over populated and starve, causing the predators to be overpopulated and starve. Bambi and thumper exist w the theory of the “noble savage” as delusions.

    As for hunting, I do not enjoy it. I found when hunting small animals with friends as a teenager that I do not enjoy taking lives and, fortunately, I have no need to. That said, I do not confuse my own soft-heartedness and squeamishness with some higher "morality." I not only have no problem with hunting, I celebrate the rights of hunters to do so and will happily enjoy the fruits of the hunt. In addition, should I ever need to hunt to survive, the vaguely remembered skills I learned as a teenager will come in handy.
