Mike, John, and David kick off Dispatch Live with a 2024 campaign update before looking at the shake-up at the Republican National Committee. The three also discuss the breaking news from Congress, where the House voted to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Alex then joins the crew to talk about his fact-checking report from Tucker Carlson’s interview with Putin. Grayson discusses his report for Wednesday morning’s TMD on debt and deficits, and Mary gives us an update on Ukraine leadership woes.

    I was surprised I didn’t hear mention of the Senate passing (70 - 29) aid for Ukraine, with almost half of Republican senators voting in favor. Putin broke the treaty promising that Russia would never attack Ukraine in exchange for its nukes. Since then, the far more powerful Russia has brutalized the Ukrainian people, including children. Yet Putin has further dreams of Russian expansion, as covered in this pod.

    It’ is news that 22 Republican senators would support the Ukrainian people! This signals hope for the Republican party: that MAGA doesn’t get everything it wants. It has so far lost on the debt cliff and government shutdowns. Maybe it’s time for MAGA to also lose on both Ukraine and its blocking of the bipartisan border security bill.

    It's in the House now - we can write our Representatives. If it passes both chambers, this would be a great victory for moderates.

    Good discussion on the Putin interview. I had interest in knowing some of the aspects disconnected from basic fact/fiction content and the gang gave some good insights that I haven't seen or heard elsewhere. You can learn some things based on how someone asks questions and what they ask or don't ask. The Commentary gang had a separate discussion about Tucker's "America is an evil dad" remarks which may have been made after the interview. Pretty disturbing that I know someone who viewed this creep as an authority and he is probably the single biggest influence that melted my relative's brain in the last few years.

    Good show! The Russia segment was top notch.

    Yall, I do not need the Skiff feed unless it means I can unsubscribe from other feeds. I'm all for the idea but for now it's just duplicative.
