    Has anyone considered the possibility that Iran meant the attacks to fail? Perhaps they wanted to learn more about Israel's Iron Dome AND to find out what Arab nations would help Israel.

      Hard to know enough details on what they expected unless the militaries reveal them. I heard part of the attack was toward a military base. The numbers of missiles seems to indicate a lot of planning and coordination. If you launch hundreds of missiles to land somewhere inside a small country, there is a chance they will actually hit something. Doubt it would be designed to land in a neighbor's territory. Most likely, the attack was meant to cause damage and learn about defenses. It wouldn't be a surprise if they saved the most advanced missiles and were hoping numbers would overwhelm the defenses.

          Also, if someone thinks from the western perspective, the success does a lot of good in that the coordination between militaries seemed to work well. Probably a useful image for a larger adversary like Russia since Russia had poor coordination among its own forces. I think it is a little much to talk of it as a win but certainly it would give extra pause to their plans. There are times to criticize some aspects of our military preparedness but in this case it looks to have done really well.
